Handwoven in Kanchipuram, India, the silk is produced using centuries-old techniques known for their density, depth of color, and enduring luster, qualities traditionally reserved for ceremonial heirlooms.
The shade’s rich blue tone is inspired by the Kashmir sapphire, a rare gemstone prized for its velvety saturation and quiet intensity. Neither bright nor opaque, the color carries a sense of depth that shifts subtly with light, echoing the natural variations found in the stone itself.
Constructed as a hardback shade with a gold foil interior, the piece is designed to enhance warmth and luminosity while honoring the silk’s natural character. Each lampshade is finished by hand in Los Angeles, preserving the integrity of the textile and ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike.
